English Harbour in the winter season rocks! Here is a list of lively bars and restaurants frequented by yachties, tourists and locals looking for decent food and drink options that won’t necessarily blow the budget. Okay, Antigua cannot be called cheap, so these are just less costly that the list in our blog post: 10 Fine Dining Restaurants in English Harbour 2026. Check those out too, as this is not an exclusive list of fun-filled bars and restaurants.
Some local eateries, pizzerias and restaurants were excluded from the list because of space, and the low-key or family nature of their offerings. Look out for our next blog post on that subject.
1. Loose Cannon
Loose Cannon Beach Bar, located on the golden sands of Galleon Beach in English Harbour, Antigua, delivers a vibrant fusion of upscale beach club energy and laid-back Caribbean charm. The menu is crafted with coastal living in mind, featuring fresh seafood, sushi, pizzas, juicy burgers, vibrant salads, and tapas-style small plates. Veggies are not left out. Cocktails are crafted, shaken and served.
Loose Cannon is popular with a younger, yachtie crowd. Expect a party atmosphere and some blasting clubhouse music all day. You may pay a little more, as this is as fine a location as you will find anywhere in the world. Loose Cannon regularly hosts events. Eat, drink, swim, repeat. Enjoy!

2. The Club House
The Club House or Club Sushi & Steak House is often just referred to as ‘Angie’s’, after the dynamic owner, Angie Dickenson. Located on the top floor of the Antigua Yacht Club overlooking Falmouth Harbour, Club Sushi & Steak House is a lively, open-air venue blending Asian flair with steakhouse classics. It’s a favorite among yacht crews, locals, and visitors seeking vibrant dining and nightlife.
Favourite dishes are varieties of Sushi, Steaks, Burgers and Fish Tacos. There is plenty more, with consideration for vegetarians. Dish sizes are very generous and reasonably priced. Cocktails, rums and beers flow. It can get busy, loud and fun. There are activities like a popular Quiz Night, Jazz & Steak Night, a Chess Group and parties hosted in season. From the view to the company, ‘Angie’s’ is not to be missed.

3. Los Caberones
Los Cabrones is a colourful Mexican Restaurant on the corner of Dockyard Drive and Yacht Club Road, the heart of the village. It’s a lively, casual dining experience with an open-air layout, colorful murals, and attentive servers. The bar is a vibe with great Tequilas and Mexican beer.
The food is Mexican faire with some Caribbean influence; Tacos, Fajitas, carnitas and nachos topped guacamole. Add a Tequila cocktail, a Sombrero, some Latin hits and the party is on. This is a popular yachtie hangout in season. They host special party nights, DJ music, and offer specials. Have fun.

4. The Lobster Hut
The Lobster Hut is on the other side of the road to Los Caberones, on Dockyard Drive. It’s a small, open-air bar and restaurant. As the name suggests the main offering is Lobster. Dishes are grilled or steamed to order, often accompanied by local sides like plantains, rice and peas, or garden salads. While lobster is the star, the menu also includes fish, shrimp, and chicken options, catering to varied tastes.
The Lobster Hut has a reputation as a late-night spot for music, with bands and DJs. At that time, it’s a young, lively crowd that spills onto the roadside, under the stars. It’s a bundle of fun. There is currently a music noise curfew at 1am. Watch this space.

5. Shirley Heights
Shirley Heights Lookout Restaurant is perched 490 feet above English Harbour in Saint Paul Parish, Antigua and Barbuda. Housed in a restored military lookout post, the venue offers panoramic views of the coastline and harbor, especially striking at sunset. The setting is open-air and rustic, with wooden tables, stone terraces, and shaded seating areas.
Shirley Heights is particularly popular on Sunday evenings when the bands play- usually a steel band followed by a reggae band or DJ. Food is served from a buffet table and comprises of Caribbean seafood, grilled meats, local veg and salads. Be carefully of the famous rum punch. It’s made with a very strong Rum 151, a high-octane solution.

6. Cloggys
Cloggy’s Café is at the end of the quay at The Catamaran Marina, on the NW side of Falmouth Harbour. Diners have great views of the yachts and the rest of the bay. Cloggy’s menu is Mediterranean-inspired with Dutch roots, offering fresh seafood, grilled meats, colorful salads, and vegetarian options. The all-day tapas menu and curated wine list—especially rosé and Pinot Grigio—make it ideal for long lunches or sunset cocktails.
Sunday Brunch remains a local institution, running from 11:30 AM to 4:30 PM with live music and harbor views. It doubles as a TV Sports Bar showing major football, rugby games, sailing, and Formula One races. It’s cheerful place with an attentive staff and owner, Ton.

Located within the historic Gunpowder House at The Admiral’s Inn, Boom Restaurant offers a scenic escape overlooking Nelson’s Dockyard. The restaurant has not only a spectacular view over Nelson’s Dockyard and English Harbour, but it also has a large pool terrace. You can eat right there or under cover. The Gunpowder House is a heritage site, with a pleasant garden and an Art Gallery inside. There is also a world class Spa.
